About Misquoted

Misquoted is an archive of things people never said. We print them on cotton. The historical record has not endorsed this project. We are proceeding anyway.

We identify figures from history who said important things. We replace those things with sentences they never said. We put the sentences on t-shirts. The process is straightforward. The implications are unclear.

History is full of people who changed the world. Most of them never commented on parking, gluten, or the behavior of pigeons. We felt this was an oversight worth correcting.

Misquoted was founded by people who took history seriously enough to stop taking it seriously. We are based in Rome, Italy. This is historically significant. We are choosing not to elaborate.

Quotes by people who never said them.
